Club News December 2017

Merry Christmas to all!

First, I must say thank you all for joining in the club and paying your yearly subs. Even though I confused most people with my “simple” form. I shall endeavour to do better.

So, where are we at present?

First of all, we now have 40 members, 16 from Stinchcombe, 9 from Dursley, 3 from Cam, 6 from North Nibley, 2 from Stone, 2 from Berkeley, and 1 from Coaley.

So, as you see, we are already getting spread out across the area which is what I thought would happen.  However, we do need your help to grow the club for the simple reason of economics. The cost of a 40-seater coach is a lot less per person than the cost of a 30-seater coach. Thus, we would all save money.

Regarding the Plays,

The Play That Goes Wrong has almost sold out, but we do need to sell out completely. So please ask friends if they are interested.

I have already booked the next outing for 11th April to see Mary Stuart in Bath. A more thought-provoking play than the first comedy. I have attached the flyer for this for you to look at.

The following play will be Twelfth Night. An open-air Production at Hatherop Castle by the Cotswold Arcadians http://www.arcadians.org/ at the end of July. – Has anyone been to these productions before?  Please let me know.

Everyone who has joined so far has been able to supply me an email address which I must say surprised me somewhat. However, it is a sign of the times.  So, I will send the information out by email in future unless you specifically ask for it to be posted to you.

I am always interested to hear your comments and views on all of the above and especially on the choice of plays. Remember the club should reflect the wishes of all its members. At present I think a musical would be a good choice for the Autumn but it’s too far away for any schedules to be announced yet.

Whatever, it would be good to hear that I have copied everyone’s email address down correctly and that you did in fact receive this.

Best Regards

Richard
